MULLEN, CZARNESKI, SCHROEDER & STEINKE STRIKE OUTAGAMIE FALL BRAWL PAYDIRT

(SEYMOUR, WI) Sept. 12 – Hometown driver Mike Mullen snagged the lead with a three-wide, slidejob on the frontstretch and went on to capture the late model feature win on night one of the Fawl Brawl at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour Friday.

Mullen, who started third on the grid of the 20 lap contest, stalked early race leader Andy Karl, holding down the third spot early for the first handful of circuits. Coming off of corner four on the eighth lap, Mullen's slidejob put him cleanly past Justin Ritchie and Karl. A lap ten yellow tightened up the field, and on the restart Shawano's Brett Swedberg stormed into the runnerup position. Swedberg and fifth row starter Mitch McGrath, who sliced his way through the pack into third, kept the Seymour Ace within striking distance. However, Mullen hung on for the win. Swedberg settled for second, followed by McGrath, Ritchie and Karl rounding out the top
five finishers.

Clintonville's Jason Ebert sprinted into the lead from his pole position of the IMCA modified feature, as Ebert traded the top spot in the early going with fellow front row starter Jordan Bartz. On an early race retstart, Manitowoc's Cody Schroeder motored into the second spot, and disposed of Ebert for the lead within a few laps. Schroeder had built up a comfortable six-car length cushion, an advantage that was cut down by Brillion's Travis Hansen, who had begun slowly whittling away at Schroeder's margin. Hansen's bid came up short, as Schroeder hung on forvictory. Hansen took runnerup honors, with Abrams “Dancin' Lance” Arneson placing third.
Marcus Yarie and Skyler Woods took fourth and fifth, respectively.

The IMCA stock car feature most certainly lived up to the billing as the class dubbed “Too-Tough-To-Tame.” In the early going, polesitter Cole Czarneski of Denmark and Mike Mullen squared off for the lead, trading the top spot on more than one occasion in the first several laps. Czarneski committed to running the high groove, while Mullen hugged the lower, inner groove. After a lap 12 restart, Czarneski blasted into the lead, with another hometown driver, Jerry Wilinski, giving chase, and for a moment wrestling the runnerup spot from Mullen. When the checkers flew, Czarneski crossed the stripe first, with Mullen retaking back the runnerup spot from Wilinski late in the contest. Wilinski settled for third, followed by Austin Jansen and Brett Wenzel.

Clintonville's Max Oreskovich sprinted into the lead with five laps remaining and cruised to victory in a caution-filled, IMCA northern sportmod feature.

In the Unified Dirt street stocks, St. Nazianz's Austin Steinke pulled off a thrilling, last lap pass for the lead on Rudolph's Kyle Gennett to score that division's feature race.

Clean sweeps were earned in both the Pro Legend and IMCA sport compact divisions as Sun Prairie's Eric Blumer and Oshkosh's Cody Booth each captured the heat and feature wins in their respective classes.

208 drivers representing four different states took part in Friday's racing program.

Racing resumes tomorrow on Saturday, September 13 for night two of the Fawl Brawl. Another full show is on tap, with late models, IMCA modifieds, stock cars, northern sportmods, sport compacts, Unified Dirt Street Stocks and Grand Nationals in action. Racing begins at 6:00 p.m. For additional information, you can follow our Facebook page or check out our website outagamiespeedway.com.
